This project began in 2016 at the instigation of the President of the Republic, who wanted to provide the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) with troops specialising in operations on mountainous terrain.
The material supplied includes climbing equipment, mountain clothing, accessories and tents. It has been delivered to the training centre to equip the Ruwenzori 1st Mountain Brigade.
