In accordance with government instructions, the group’s sites were temporarily closed on 17 March, but with administrative and sales teams working from home on a continuous basis. Faced with the shortage of masks, Groupe Marck heard the national call and quickly took action to develop of washable textile masks, approved by the DGA French defence procurement agency. The production lines in its workshops have been adapted for the manufacturing of masks and to apply the health and safety measures established by the company to enforce the barrier gestures recommended by the government. Since last week, 4 production sites in France have resumed progressive activity and have started making masks. The group carries out actions on a daily basis aimed at increasing the daily production capacity (partnership, working time, etc.). The “barrier masks” made by the group to supplement social distancing gestures and rules are designed to be washable and reusable. The mainly polyester materials used are qualified by the DGA French defence procurement agency. Users can wear them for 4 to 8 hours provided that they are not handled during this period. The group’s products are primarily intended for emergency response and security forces (police, army, fire brigade, civil defence), local and regional authorities and private, mainly defence and security companies.
